Waterfalls for some people can be all much the same, but for me I really enjoy watching them and hearing the force of the water plunging over the cliff edge. In fact my favorite part of visiting the Bridal Veil Falls was the first viewing platform is perched just above the waterfall giving you a great view of the falls as they cascade down.
There is a short trek through native forest out to the viewing platforms. The first at the top, featuring stunning views over the top of the falls. Then others mid way down and finally at the base of the falls seen in the picture below on the right. While the walk down may be easy, the trek back up can be challenging. Particularly if you run up the steps as I did. though, I have to admit to only getting about 3/4 of the way up before having to stop and catch my breath.

The Bridal Veil Falls are located in the Waikato region (about 2 hours from Auckland) and just 10 kilometers from the seaside town of Raglan. It is definitely well worth the stop.
