Kingsland

Kingsland is one of the oldest inner suburbs of Auckland. It is the home of Eden Park, where most of the international grade cricket and rugby is played in Auckland.

In recent years it has become increasingly popular as property prices in the trendy Ponsonby and Grey Lynn become out of reach for many first home buyers. Kingsland, which neighbors these both is a more economical alternative.

Kingsland is also home to two of my favorite cafes in Auckland, the first Atomic, has a great selection of food, for breakfast & lunch, and coffee. I particularly love the granola for breakfast with seasonal fruit.

The second is Greenleaf Organics (feature image & below) which is a cafe situated in an old industrial building, now occupied by design and architectural firms. Greenleaf serves exceptional coffee – I can vouch for this as I taste it almost daily being situated near my work office. They also serve delicious organic food, including great vegan and vegetarian options.
