Oriental Bay

Oriental Bay is where I stay most of the time whenever I visit New Zealand’s  Capital city, Wellington. It has direct access to the CBD, restaurant and bars along Courtney Place and Cuba Street, and easy walking to the Wellington wharves.

Oriental Bay is on the northern slope of Mount Victoria. It was named after one of the first ships to bring settlers to Wellington. I would highly recommend hiking up Mt Victoria to take in a great view of Wellington city, and to burn off some of the calories I guarantee you will put on while enjoying the cities culinary delights.

One of my favorite spots for dinner is the French bistro Vista, located on Oriental Parade. It is a very comfortable spot for great french fare.
