Parnell is one of the oldest suburbs in Auckland. Known for its shopping along Parnell Rd, it’s cafes and restaurants, the famous Parnell Rose Gardens and of course the French Markets every weekend.

Parnell is a great spot to visit to take in any or all of the above. My personal recommendation is to take an early morning walk, run or stroll along the foreshore to build the appetite before heading to the French Markets for breakfast. There is a wide variety of food stalls selling everything from fresh breads & baked treats, crepes, juices & coffee alongside fresh food stalls where you can fill up the fridge.

I can’t think of a better way to start the weekend.

I cannot go past the crepe stall at the Parnell French Markets.
